One wintery day while aimlessly reading the long list of tweets on Twitter I stumbled across a Twitter account with a name that sounded awfully familiar! :) One of those moments when a smile immediately hits your face because a memory comes flooding back to you….well, it was an old friend from college and I immediately connected with her on Twitter (ohh—these social networking sites I tell ya…aren’t they fab?!?!! :)
Come to find out that Rachel was not only pursuing her fabulous talent of design (like she had been in college) but she was venturing off into a world of conquering her goals and living her dreams. She had worked in the world of corporate design since college (and of course nailed that job out of the park) but seemed to find that it wasn’t what made her heart go pitter-patter any longer. With crazy mad design skills Rachel set off to start what is now Birdy Blue! :)
Birdy Blue is a fabulous design company and does wedding invites, save-the-dates, birth announcements, custom stationary, and pretty much any paper-good you can dream up! Her talent is driven by her simplicity and intentional way of living….nestled in the cutest house on any block in Minneapolis, Rachel’s home is decorated with beauty which she shares with her paper goods! :)
Whenever I have the opportunity to stumble across someone that is intentionally trying to live out their dreams I will do anything to help….because why not? This world is already filled with too many clock-punching, horribly paid jobs that many people dread going so why not lend a hand and help a friend for the better of their life and mine!? :) My motto in life is and has always been that if you can work a job that allows you to live the life you have always dreamed of then I would call that true happiness!
Cheers to you dear Rachel, I am along for your ride and only have visions of seeing you soar and succeed! :)
OH—and for all of you wondering where you can get your hand on these fabulous pieces, check out the Birdy Blue design blog or Etsy. And, of course, Rachel does custom pieces as well! :)
