I have been photographing little Max every few months for over a year now and I feel like I should be eating Thanksgiving dinner with the Olsons because I know them so well! :) And man, do they have a fun and energetic family with their 3 boys! Reed, Jack and Max are near the bestest of friends....although Max does get yelled at every once and awhile for playing with the "big kid" toys, but they still have a genuine brotherly love for one another! What more can a Mom ask for right?!?!?
Mr. Grumpy Pants....
I love boys!
I wish that I was half as cool as the Olson family---seriously you guys are fun, energetic and down-right caring and genuine! I love the time I spend with you guys! :)

So I couldn't resist sharing what a RAD time I had with Dena and Doug yesterday; although the weather's moody nature turned from sunny to hurricane-esque to sunny again I wouldn't have wished my time with them any other way! After some down-town fun, we ventured out to find the *best* fields in St. Croix county and came upon some pretty happinin' places.
Doug and Dena not only sport the mere perfection of vintage awesomeness but they are down-right in love...they share their love for fashion and design together along with heir smiles that bring a contagious sense of humor! The items they brought along to the shoot were perfect and I only wished that we would have had more sunlight to run around in....

An old school portrait for the fireplace someday....
They happen to hold special meaning to Doug and Dena too. Doug had one before they were married and Dena had some jealousy for how awesome it was; so when Doug proposed to Dena he decided to do it in an antique store where the ring happened to be around the top stem of a happy apple. So now they each have a happy apple of their own! How cute is that?!?!?!
We found this rusty bike by the side of the road...I couldn't resist! So, what better spot than to share a few cokes with each other?!? :)
Oh gosh....Dena and Doug you guys are unbelievable vintage rockstars! I wish to channel some of your awesomeness into me! :)
EMILY! You are amazing! Thanks for getting these up so quickly! WE love you! Can't wait to see the rest, you know i'm buying a HUGE frame for one of these!
(09.28.09 @ 3:32PM)oooh, jealousy :) very awesome!
(09.28.09 @ 5:12PM)Dena and Doug -- WOW!!! I guess I need to keep an eye out for more vintage chairs for you in special colors -- I like the happy apple story. Will you forward this to Grama Bea? -- Did you know she is the most creative person of us all, where all the creativity came from on the Swenson side. Love, Pam
(09.28.09 @ 5:58PM)Wow! Grama Bea needs to see these -- she is where all the creativity came from on the Douglas side!!
(09.28.09 @ 6:00PM)wow, this post is exploding with cuteness! I LOVE that black and white.... it's stunning! ( both the photography and the subjects! ) I also LURVE the bike and coke pictures!

Probably one of the cutest families in the neighborhood, The Olson family stole my heart last week with their little Cooper, who just turned one! Dusty and Lexie are downright fun parents that LOVE to play with Cooper and make him laugh until his belly hurts. We spent some time running around their backyard while Cooper kept exploring the ants, sand, sticks and fresh leaves that had fallen to the ground---he was mesmerized!Cooper's blue eyes and blond spiky hair are enough to steal anyone's attention from across the room---and the best part is that he has 2 perfectly cute little teeth that are coming in front and center! They are sooooo adorable when he smiles to show off his new pearly whites AND dimples! *sigh* :)
Crack me up!
My nephew Cooper is so darn cute and I don't know how you could have made him even cuter...but you did, you are perfection!
(09.25.09 @ 11:33PM)Frankie is a bundle of energy that I would be thrilled to play any day of the week (that is...if she can slow down long enough for me!) With her beautifully curly blond hair, dark eyes and stunning personality, this little 4 year old sure is a REAL PRINCESS!
I love you Frantas! (especially Frankie the princess....) :)
Oh my goodness! How beautiful is this little girl! She looks like so much fun. Some one right up your alley, Em! Great photos :)
(09.23.09 @ 9:48AM)Stunning child! I've never seen such gorgeous hair on a little girl. Amazing. And her bedroom seems perfect for her, too.
Once again, Em, you captured the essence tremendously!
(09.29.09 @ 10:55AM)AS ALWAYS, beautiful pictures, Emily. I would not guess that this is a 4-yo girl. Well done, well done.
(09.29.09 @ 3:33PM)I knew that we were going to have a good time when Josiah took it upon himself to make faces at Kira in an attempt to get her to smile....as you can see she wanted NONE OF IT at the time. :)
The things you do to make a little girl laugh......
These are precious!
